Aarushi Murder Case and the Role of Media
Mysteriously murdered Aarushi
I have been dormant for a long time now but since Arushi murder case, I have been as uneasy as one can be. There have been so many theories coming up since day one. First, Hemraj was thought to have murdered Arushi and run away. But he turned up dead himself. So, this theory was discarded.
Then, the other servants who had introduced him to Talwars were projected to be murderers. But, it popped out too.
Thirdly, it was propagated that Arushi and Hemraj allegedly had sexual relations. Dr. Rajesh Talwar saw them red-handed and killed them both. It was even termed ‘honor killing’!
Then, a new theory came up. According to it, it was a case of incest – Dr. Rajesh Talwar was raping his daughter Arushi. Arushi threatened to tell about it to everybody. So, she was killed. Hemraj saw her being murdered and ran to the roof for getting help. But before he could do so, he was murdered too.
Now, according to the new theory, Dr. Rajesh Talwar had extramarital affair with Dr. Anita and Arushi was dead against it. Additionally, she was a bit too close to Hemraj. The constant bickerings had turned ugly. Dr. Rajesh Talwar came back home one day and called Hemraj.
When he didn’t turn up, he went looking for him and found him sitting very close to his daughter Arushi. He was infuriated but didn’t say anything. He took Hemraj on the roof, hit him on the head with the hammer and slit his throat with the surgical knife. Then, he came down and killed his daughter in a similar fashion.
Mom, Dr. Nupur Talwar, has made no statements yet whatsoever and the family insists that Dr. Rajesh Talwar is innocent and has even asked for CBI probe.
I personally think that none of the stories have been able to uncover all the aspects of Arushi and Hemraj double murder case. Who murdered Arushi is still a mystery? If mother is not involved somehow, how can she keep quiet for so long. After all, the daughter was 14 years old! I thinka new theory is going to come up soon.
But whatever the case may be, I deeply regret the mudslinging on the poor girl’s character after her death. Even is she is not there to withness it anymore, why are we trying to demean her through all of this. There was a time when people used to avoid using bad words for even the most vicious, cruel and dangerous criminals. I don’t know whether the girl was at fault or not but the way people discuss about her and her ‘loose character’, it hurts me deeply.
I think media should have been more responsible with the use of words and available information. Each theory that comes to mind is there breaking news. It is not. It is just speculation. Plus, they should be more conservative when they are talking about such cases. Inferences drawn should be based on facts alone. This is what news all about. Facts, not fiction, should be guiding media. The media should play a more constructive role in such case. What do you say?
It’s easy to blame a dead victim, but what evidence is there (other than the father’s innuendo) that Arushi was anything other than a sociable school girl?

yes absolutely right i agree with the above write up and also i must add that even if she had any relationship she should have been made understood things and nobody has the right to take away anybodys life .There is a lot ov mess in this case as the parents are calm w2hich is unusual i can say this as i am a mother myself.
Is it possible that one of the NOIDA based TV channels like India TV orchestrated this murder. From the way they are covering the news and speculating to create confusion among the investigators, it certainly seems so. One of the days we may get to see a “breaking news” on India TV or Star News, where they would air a video clipping of the murder! The Hindi TV media that chose to air a so-called MMS of Arushi being fondled by the servant is the real murderer. I wonder when will the Supreme Court intervene and put an end to all this live investigation; after all undertrials are entitled to anonymity from public gaze.
no nobody yet knows the real story of the poor girl Arushi Talwar,but yet the role of media is bad as they are to sell there news,but on that cost ,the poor girl’s image has been made so bad in the eyes of the public.Before anything is proved,media has no right the give any statement regarding sombody’s daughter’s character.One thing is nobody knows was she bad or not,secondly even if she was wrong,is it right to make it an issue,it has been so bad situation for the family to listen all this about there only daughter.Media’s role should be to help police in finding evidences and should wait for the right reason of muder and then make a report on it.
